A group of researchers have identified at least seven stars that might be surrounded by advanced alien mega-structures known as “dyson spheres.” NBC News’ Ellison Barber speaks with Janna Levin, a professor of physics and astronomy at Barnard College, about the findings and whether the truth is out there.

Hey Ellison… nice report. Don’t put yourself down saying you just have an English degree, you have a very important skill in taking complex things, like this, interviewing people, understanding what’s going on, and translating it for the rest of us. 🙂
I’d like to learn more about this but from an actual scientist. I think he’d offer some real insight.
Christ, NBC – if you’re going to report on a scientific paper, at LEAST provide a link to the paper.
Dyson looks like how Frodo would look when he is older.
What she’s saying, as most of that type of scientists say is: “I wasn’t part of this research, so obviously it’s all trash”.
Shadier than a bunch of drunk drag queens.
Spotting cracks in the simulation again.
This is silly. The sad part is the scientists being involved
Any species capable of building a Dyson sphere, would need to be FTL travel capable to be able to mine enough raw materials to build a structure big enough to encompass a star.
Same species would likely also send out scouts to scout planets for mining.
