The resistance to acceptance largely comes from the nearly century long stigmatization campain of UFO/UAP reports. That campaign has been very successful. I wonder whether the public would even accept the President entering the Press briefing room with an alien, as factual. I suspect, that many would still think it a hoax.

Regarding the craft, the Pentagon has already acknowledged their reality, without addressing their origin or pilots. THAT much, is what should be accepted first by the public, but no discussion of that fact either. Most politicians won’t touch even that, the Press won’t touch it, nor will most within the scientific community, with very few exceptions.

It is a “don’t frighten the sheep” strategy being employed at the moment, with a drip-fed disclosure that will take centuries at the current speed, that is until they appear and broadcast their arrival (via taking over the feed at a major international sporting event I am told). A lot of Americans are very much into, let’s call it, UFO and intelligent-alien theory. And why not? It’s a fascinating subject, as Hollywood and many successful authors/biographists and documentary makers can attest to.
A majority of Americans even believe they’ve seen UFOs, though eye-witness accounts are notoriously unreliable. For example, Iraq war operations of the, then mysterious, F-117 Night Hawke around western Europe in the 1990’s are thought to be responsible for the ‘Black Triangle’ UFO flap of that time and place, but I digress.
All those ‘believer’ Americans have a vote and political representatives (sitting or aspiring) have cottoned onto that fact. Heck, some are true believers themselves…
Gone are the days when UFO and intelligent-alien theory advocacy make the advocate seem crazy or silly; the mainstream has fully bought into the mythology and the (theoretical and hypothetical) science.
It is no wonder then that UFO and intelligent-alien theory has reached the threshold for official inquiry and hearings. It is not testament to the validity or reality of UFO and intelligent-alien theory that it is now being openly pondered by political representatives a high-ranking military men. It is a testament to the sheer popularity of the subject.
And of course, there’s the grift. Fantastic tales, sincerely told as someone’s true experience, have always been an opportunity to make money and/or get attention. Nowadays, everyone is getting in on the grift: MSM, politicians, ex-intel service men.
We are, though, none the wiser. We still have nothing but fantastic tales (told by people who just happen to socially and financially benefit from their stories) and blurry or otherwise inconclusive video and images.
There are precious few, non debunked, accounts from, credible, witnesses that themselves haven’t benefited in some way from their story.

You all should read the book ” The Day after Roswell” by LtCol Phil Corso back in the 90s. He had nothing to lose . He was an old man the time. His creds are that he was a Battalion commander in Germany in charge of nukes and worked at the Foreign technology desk at a certain agency in DC. That book was mind blowing.. with the ones he dealt with he felt that they were bioengineered for space travel.
