Ok im confused. If a satallite is in geosynchronous orbit then it will move in relation to the background stars. So how can both appear as points of light on a time exposure photo? Thoughts anyone?

High altitude balloon payloads existed at that time said Prof Simon and that a fast bright flash in the atmosphere could look like a geosync object on a long exposure plate….
