I think it can be seen crashing from anywhere, so obviously, Bethesda didn’t care if it lined up… And for once, it doesn’t feel like a lack of proper care, or couldn’t be bothered: If the trajectory actually lined up, it’d likely severely limit the places the player could actually see it from. Thus, the smarter call, for once, is to just fudge the fine print, so the broad stroke can work.

If fallout 4 had even a third of the ending customization as Fallout 2 or New Vegas, it would be near perfect.
